Does anyone know if you are able to change the default voice of Siri? Similar to changing the voice on OS X?

Knight Rider. K.I.T.

I hope they'll add the feature. I want a man's voice. Preferably Irish.

It's ugly as hell, sounds like 1991.

What ever happened to the newly developed Tom voice for Mac OS? Why couldn't they simply port it to iOS?

Some apples, I tell ya!

It might have just been the quality of the recording, but if you watch the BBC video of some guy using Siri on the 4S, it sounds like a dude voice. You only here it for a second. I could be totally mistaken though.

Listen to the voice on Voice Control now, the one they used was the same one, it just sounded different because it was amplified through a lot better speakers than what's built into an iPhone.

You need to watch (listen to) the Apple video on Siri: https://www.apple.com/iphone/features/siri.html

While I think Siri is understandable, it's a bit klunky compared to other current voice-to-text synthesizers, and it reminds me of the voices here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAOtC9QfXac (warning: liberal cursing of 4-letter F-words and others)

At least for the few months I would assume not.

I hope they eventually add the voice of the star trek computer, or HAL :)

It should be possible to purchase different voice packs for Siri & select among them in "Settings." My favorites:
1. C-3PO
2. K.I.T.T. from the original Knight Rider
3. HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey

Siri voice

Hi Everyone, I agree with Gregintosh.... It would be fitting to have the voice of Siri as Steve Jobs... It would be nice to be able to have choice of a few voices to choose from...

If Majel Barrett hadn't died some years ago, I would suggest the Starfleet computer from Star Treks TNG-VOY. But since there isn't that, how about GLaDOS? Or Wheatley?
