Has anyone got experience of both? I have only had iPhones so only know Siri but I find her to be, much of the time, irredeemably ****. I wondered what Google Assistant is like? Can he set the stopwatch running? Does he always say "One sec/On it"? Does he often just pause and then completely ignore your request? Genuinely considering an Android phone so just wondered...!

In my little experience of Google Assistant, it shows Siri up to be the useless pile of crap that we all know it for. I found GA to be quick, responsive and accurate. As I say I haven’t used it as much as Siri and Alexa but just thought I would chime in.

So your Siri does all that ‘One sec’, ‘On it’ etc? I would put a bullet in its head if it was real!

I had Android, and then whole family switched to Apple (iPhone 5 and on) for ease of UI and reducing UI frustrations and missteps.

With that said, I now have my iPhone X and a second line for my new One Plus Nord 10 5G which was really inexpensive to buy in March 2021. I use both iOS 14.7.1 and Android 11, respectively.

With that background, Google Assistant is miles, and maybe leap years, ahead of Siri. If Siri has a weak internet or cellular connection, you can forget using it. Hmm, just a sec, still working all get pretty old to the point that I fret even asking Siri for anything.

My iPhone X is currently my primary which will likely be “soon replaced” with an iPhone 13 - mainly to stay compatible with my family.

My Android-based OnePlus is my reliable secondary phone and Google Assistant works fast and like a charm. Siri needs serious re-work to be functional and reliable especially with poor connectivity.

I love my Apple products but Siri is mostly sidelined in my household.

The good news is that Google Assistant can be summoned pretty easily now on an iPhone using Siri shortcuts.

I find Siri frustrating more than I do useful. I have Homepods around the house and even setting timers can be a massive chore.
