That's weird. I don't have to say "note" to add things to my reminders. I have a few different lists so I just specify which list but I have never had to add "note" to the end. I use this feature all the time and it works really well for me. Are you sure that list is named "shopping?"

You misunderstand, I keep my shopping list in the Notes app, not the reminders app. It works much better for me that way, and it's extremely reasonable that a shopping list would be located in the notepad-emulating area. And Siri is perfectly capable of adding items line-by-line into lists that I have written in the notes app, but she's too stupid to find certain document names outside of the one particular app she assumes they'll be located in unless you specify exactly where it is.

And if that wasn't bad enough, she has zero learning capabilities. So even if she was too stupid to look in the Notes app for that document name after she didn't find it located in the Reminders app, well after I correct her she should learn that that's where that document name is located. But no, no matter how many times I phrase it each way, if I then later forget to say "note" at the end of saying "add milk to shopping list", then she'll still respond with "sorry I don't see a shopping list in your reminders." Sigh, Siri, you dumb, dumb idiot.

Well, first, Siri is an it. It's not actually a woman. Semantics. Siri is an IT.

Also, Siri is not AI. It is not sentient. The PROGRAM recognizes Lists as part of the reminders app. It makes sense that you have to say Note if you're adding something to the NOTE app.

First off, saying Siri is an "it" is like saying cinderella is an it, which is obviously wrong. They're both female-mimicing creations.

Second, the whole point of siri is that it uses natural language. And OTHER voice-interface systems already do exactly what I'm saying Siri should do. So your claim that it isn't possible is ludicrous.

My Siri uses a male voice...so...not exactly "female-mimicing" anything.

Hah, true, you can set it to mimic almost any type of human character you can think of. For fun I set my Siri to speak as a British man for a few days.

Siri is much better now than when I first used it a year ago. I think it's better than Google Now at this point and it was the opposite last year. I think making something like Siri or Now or Cortana is probably the most profoundly difficult programming task ever attempted by man. I am watching them develop in amazement. This is the future happening right in front of us.
