This on an Apple Watch 6.

I don't use Siri for much. Mostly things like: "Siri, set a timer for 30 minutes", or, "Siri, turn on the water pump". This has worked mostly quite well for several years, but recently Siri has started responding with phrases like, "It looks like you don't have the Timer app installed", or, "It looks like you don't have any Home devices set up." Generally, restarting the watch gets Siri back to work. But not for long. Sometimes I just resort to starting a timer with the Timer app (definitely installed) or turning on the water pump with my iPhone or (less conveniently) with the Home app on the watch.

Recently, this also started happening with my wife's Watch 6.

At home we have two Apple TV 4s as Home Hubs.

Any ideas?

I get that same error from time to time & it ends up resolving on it's own (I don't restart, etc). I feel like I read a thread on here a bit ago that it was an error introduced in one of the software releases. I think the only thing to do is wait for them to patch it.

I use Siri every day for turning my tvs on/off and video playback controls and I haven’t noticed anything wrong outside the usual errors.

Also, I believe Siri is still mostly server based, so I don’t think rebooting your local hardware device is going to help much to fix Siri.

So what do you suggest?

Happened again this evening. "Hey Siri, turn on water pump".

"It looks like you haven't set up any HomeKit devices".

Switch the watch to the Home app. There are all my devices.

Restart watch.

Tell Siri, "Hey Siri, turn on water pump."

Water pump turns on.

...same 'Siri issues' with the HomePod mini and HomeKit.

Hoping new Matter protocol will force  to iron-out some/all of these wrinkles.

Siri is dreadful but I use it so much on a daily basis. It rarely gets the wording right and often fails to even process a request.

‘Hey Siri, set a timer for 10 minutes’….

It’s not like it could be argued that it can’t understand my accent because I have a fairly posh and neutral English sounding accent. Apple need to sort this as it’s been going on for years whereas the likes of Amazon have mastered it in such a short space of time.

Sorry to say but I also had this last week.

I use Siri to set 3 mins timers just before I go out for a run but last week, she responded with the same message - "It looks like you don't have the Timer app installed" when I 100% DO have the default app installed?!!

I say this into my S4 Apple Watch but often find that if my phone is in the same room, a timer will start on my watch AND on the phone??!? I now have to make sure that when I talk to Siri on my watch, I am far enough away from my phone so that it doesn't hear me......!!

I had that issue yesterday repeatedly and ended up having to do a timer on my iPhone. Frustrating when you’re in a rush.
