I have had 1 lifetime account on an XM Inno since 2007 ($399) and a second lifetime account since 2010 that was $499 on my Audi (the module can be moved to a few other vehicles with similar setups). You can transfer lifetime accounts 2 times UNLESS it is on a OEM car unit (so I can't transfer the one in my Audi). When I sell my Audi, I will sell the lifetime account activated module on ebay/offerup/... and either make money, or have the sale pay for the $499 it cost me.

I did the lifetime back in the day when they were discussing the idea of charging for streaming. I stream all day every day at work. So glad I did... There were many years where you had to pay an additional fee for internet streaming on your account. I knew everything was going to streaming based service, so I found a way to get in for free, forever...

I did pay for service in my Ram truck for a couple years (I commute 80 miles a day for work) because it doesn't have carplay. But I picked up a commuter, and added carplay to it, so I am back to not having to pay...

With the SiriusXM app being added to Carplay, I'm not sure I will ever need to pay for service ever again...

Has Sirius several years ago and the only option for canceling was to call,

When my subscription lapsed got a $60 renewal offer, including traffic. Reasonable. I pay with a privacy.com credit card with just the amount of purchase so the renewal fails. Otherwise I forget to cancel.

I was not aware that they had lifetime accounts - do they still offer that, do you know?

They haven't for years, close to 10 years... They started offering them before they merged, I had a lifetime XM, so I didn't get a few Sirius channels (and people with Sirius lifetime accounts didn't get a few XM channels).

They eventually removed the restriction, and within the last couple years made Howard Stern's channels available on both sides (it was the last set of channels that were held out to Sirius or SiriusXM side accounts)

I guess I was not aware of it at the time. Great break for those who were able to take advantage of it!
