Six New Leagues Coming to Apple Sports

I've been using this app ever since it came out here in Canada. I really like the clean and simple UI. I follow football (soccer) on it and it gives me enough information that I can stay updated. Scores, goalscorer etc. I wish the lineup view would show the actual formation like apps like Fotmob or Sofascore do though, as opposed to a list view which tends to be the default for American sports.

I do think it will need to expand to other leagues and sports eventually to really take off but for people like me who prefer Apple's own apps for UI + optimization reasons it's not bad at all.

Would like to see all the top level motorcycle leagues added.

Would love for MotoGP or WSBK to be added eventually.

I believe it has the Championship but no league one or two (here in Canada).

Apparently Live Activities are supposed to automatically start for your favourite teams, but this feature has never worked for me.

Has anyone else encountered and solved this problem?

This has always worked for me; I find it very useful when I forget my team is playing and then the live activity will just being when the game starts and I'm at work. Reminds me to check the game.

There is an extra step to enable live activities. Select the drop down that allows you to switch between Sports, My Teams etc then the gear icon. From there you can select which Teams you want Live Activities for.

I knew of the app. But it wasn't available in Norway (nor most of Europe?) when launched.

That came later, as per @Mac Fly (film)'s post above. 🙂

And I missed _that_ announcement back in November.

Thanks, I have had two teams selected from that menu ever since I started using the app and I have never had a Live Activity start automatically =\

Here's an idea: the app lets you input the sport, league, or team of your choosing and if the data you're looking for is on the web somewhere, the app can import it and display it, sorta like a custom sports widget. How hard would that be? Asking because I really don't know...
