What am I supposed to do with AI chat bots in my car?
Honestly, I’m not an AI nut by any means, but I recently went from a 7 minute commute to an 45 minute commute, and I’d love to play a campaign of dungeons and dragons that I could pick up at any time. Unfortunately, I haven’t found any good ones yet; the AIs tend to forget what’s going on in the middle of action, change the rules (or even setting) randomly, and are always trying to agree with you so don’t really offer a lot of imaginative challenge. But if history has taught me anything, dnd is a technology driver and we’ll see it improve in a few more years. 🤣 🧌 🎲 ⚔️

Meanwhile I still can’t see more than a dozen, songs, artist, or albums on screen when the car is moving. In either Music or Qobuz. Stop nannying me Apple. And anything with Siri integration still sucks. As with most things Apple. CarPlay is a love hate relationship.

Thanks, but I have all my MP3s in Dropbox. I don’t pay for Apple Music (not sure how you got that from my original post) and load them into VLC for playback in CarPlay. I could stream directly from Dropbox on my phone into the car, but I like the VLC setup.
Nice to see people coming up with alternatives to Apple Music. I ended up training Siri to use a different music app (I use Plexamp) because it was so horribly bad at playing my music that I physically loaded on my phone. The regular failures to play tracks I asked for by exact name would just end up making me angry, which is the last thing I want to be while behind the wheel. Kind of negated any supposed safety benefit of using voice to get things done while driving.

Have same issue - it won’t read the messages and says there’s something wrong.
I don't have issues with text messages, those are working fine. But if someone sends you an audio message, Siri says it can't play that message. But when you play the message on your phone in Whatsapp you it works...
Looks like someone at Meta is just lazy.

A lot of people have road warrior jobs and take a lot of meetings on the road. At least this makes it safer. “You should pull over” simply isn’t realistic. They’d never get anywhere.
I didn't think it was possible for meetings to get worse than they were 10 years ago when I retired. When do people do actual work?

All the time now, that's the issue. It's no longer tied to a desk. Hell, my recruiter does her job on planes regularly. No meetings there, mind you, but she is constantly on Teams messaging if the plane's network is good enough.
