I could have, but they wanted me to post the whole thing off to them, they’d check it and if they deigned to consider it not working then they’d send a replacement. So I’d have been without them for potentially a month if they didn’t post them soon enough before Christmas.

I tried using my AirPods 2 (which I used to love) as a stopgap, only to discover the sound quality was really poor compared to the AirPods 3. I honestly didn’t expect to love the AirPods 3 as much as I do, so getting a replacement ASAP was important to me as I hardly ever stop using my AirPods other than to charge them.
And what happens after 3 years of AppleCare? You throw it away? It’s a shame. My trusty old Lightning Earphones for 15€ Still last. No recharging necessary.

Bought some AirPod Pro's for myself this month. First time Air Pod user. Hate them. The issues that bother me are:

  • The force touch area is on a very tiny (even shorter than earlier models) stem that is difficult to find. Is this something you get better at after a while?
  • Squeezing a fake button to do things doesn't feel natural. Other earpods have their touch sensors on the larger ear part so it's easy to find and tap to do things. Am I missing how this is supposed to work? Find some tiny fake button on a tiny stem and attempt to fake squeeze it to perform a function?
  • Having a phone conversation with a buddy, (outside on the patio with a BT speaker playing music on low volume) my friend said the music was way too loud! It was turned way down. I switched to my Plantronics BT headset and he couldn't hear the music at all. For some reason, the mics on these things are super sensitive to certain sounds?
  • As I walk around the house with them in my ears, messages pop up on TV screen (we use Apple TV 4K boxes) saying that AirPods are nearby. Wife doesn't appreciate those messages (neither do I). Surely there is a way to turn that message off, but why have it on in the first place.
  • Didn't think the sound was any better than the Libratone Track+ earphones I use when exercising.
Maybe I'm just doing something wrong but they don't seem very natural to use.

You know what? I wish Apple would stop hiding these settings away or turning them off by default.

Who'd normally think that long pressing the volume button would do anything?

It's the digital equivalent of having a bookshelf secret passageway.
Wow, you should try long pressing on the brightness setting. It's gonna blow your mind!

The notify when left behind feature is great! I’m very happy to be getting that notification five times a day while my AirPods Pro are in my pocket. The best is when I get that notification when the AirPods are in my ears and connected to my iPhone.

Auto connect feature? Yeah that stopped working with the Apple Watch since iOS 14.8.

Announce Notifications… don’t expect to see the same notification on the Apple Watch when it comes through the AirPods so pay close attention to what Siri is telling you. You will have to break out the phone to catch up on what you missed.

Apple software has become complete garbage.

I gifted someone another AirPods Pro this year, because I know it’s such a life saver, more than any other accessory. After Xmas I’d probably wait for the update, but don’t hesitate then, they’re worth every penny. I use them naked in old Shure earphone pouch, but I can recommend the Incase Woolenex Airpods Pro case (on Apple Online Store). Lightweight, case still feels good in hands and it keeps the satisfying click, visible LED and clickable back button.

I have the AirPods Pro and am not seeing the "Notify When Left Behind" option in Find My. Maybe you have the same issue I do? I'm on an iPhone 8, so maybe that's why? Dunno.
I have the AirPods 3rd gen, and can’t see the option either on my XS Max. I was hoping one of these comments would have a solution.

Those who don’t see the notify when left behind option. Where are you looking for it? It’s in the Find My app. If you don’t see it in there, restart the phone.

Looking in Find My. Not there. Checked for software updates and AirPod Pro firmware updates, none available. Restarted phone. No change.
