Are they the exact same size as the iPad2?
wifi only is same size (using old ipad's cover) while the LTE is a little thicker
no. the current ipad's dimension are the same for both wifi and lte models, which are thicker (slightly) than the ipad 2's.
gee that's what i just said...
the wifi is no thicker than ipad 2
That is not what was said at all. The new wifi iPad is the same thickness as the LTE model, which is THICKER than the iPad 2.
This post implies that the new wifi only ipad is slimmer than the new 4g ipad. Which is incorrect. All new ipads are slightly thicker than the ipad 2.
sorry my bad, the new ipads are just a tad thicker than the 2nd gen
dimensions HxW are the same...
should have been clearer on first post
The iPad 3 is THICKER no matter which model you choose.
gee thanks for pointing that out when i already retracted and said i was wrong
mighty happy for you pointing out everyone else's mistakes
and now back to our regularly scheduled program
You made a mistake.
new iPad and iPad 2 comparisons here
New iPad is .6mm thicker than iPad 2 (all models)
New iPad WiFi is .11lbs heavier than iPad 2 WiFi
New iPad 4G is .12lbs heavier than iPad 2 Verizon 3G
New iPad 4G is .11lbs heavier than iPad 2 ATT 3G
"iPad 2 Verizon 4G" is not quite right. but my real question is where are the missing combinations? i mean, what's heavier: the new ipad wifi or the old at&t ipad 2?
Just for future reference, Apple.com is a fantastic source of info about Apple products.
For instance: http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/
Alternately, comparing the 2nd & 3rd generation: http://www.apple.com/ipad/compare/
Er... yeah, just caught that.
