Size of older bands on series 4?

I know that older bands fit the AW series 4. But I'm wondering if they're the same width. E.g., is the strap itself on a current-gem sport loop the same width as older sport loops? It seems not completely unlikely that with the larger watch cases, the straps might have been made a little wider.

My 42mm Series 0 bands are the same width in terms of lugs as my 44m Series 4 bands. And my 42mm Series 0 band lugs fit inside my 44mm Series 4 watch exactly as they do the Series 0.
