Size of the photos

Hi, is it me or the photos are a lot bigger (memory space) in the iPad 3 than on the iPad 2. My photo library was about 10G in the 2 and it is now 25G in the 3, is this about the resolution?

I guess so, I was synching with iTunes

Update: It turns that the pics are bigger! I found this thread:

When I look at the size difference of his pics, it fits with the size difference of mine
