I bought the 6s Plus, at first it felt too big, now I'm more comfortable holding it than I am an iPhone 6s. The 6s feels small to me. My only complaints are that it's hard to get my thumb to the opposite side of the screen and it's the first iPhone screen I've actually had scratches on (from putting something else in the same pocket, not the rivets in the jeans). More surface area is nice for checking things out, but also provides a larger area for scratches. Will I buy the next plus version of the iPhone, yes (with a screen protector), as I have gotten used to it. Would I have bought the 6S Plus again given my complaints? No, I would have settled for the 6s instead. I just don't like downgrading.

Being a senior citizen, the large screen on the 6+ and 6s+ is a blessing for me and my wife. Much easier to see and use and we love the landscape mode it provides for most apps.
This is exactly why my wife wants the Plus when we get her next phone. She also never carries her phone in a pants pocket, only her purse.

My mom needs a big phone, but she never (or rarely) carries a purse, so she hangs onto her flip phone and squints at it.

I used the 4.7inch iPhone but i am planning to get the 7 Plus in September. People say it's hard to use at first but in a matter of few days you get used to it. Yes i know it's huge compared to other devices on the market that sport even bigger screen in a smaller body but for me, it's not a big deal. I would love to have a bigger screen + more resolution and battery life.

The battery life and screen resolution are nice, it did take me about a month to get used to it but I also upgraded from a 5S.

I am so damn torn. 2 years of this, and now another. Obviously only I can decide for myself and no amount of responses will change that fact. Based purely on rumors and speculation.....I think I will want that dual camera. Not sure what other differentiators there will be. I love the size of the plus screen when I am on the couch, at an appointment, taking photos and videos, etc. But the 4.7" is great when I am on the move and want to whip it out to do something quickly. I feel weird on the 5.5' because it is so big but thats just a mental thing. My thumb can reach all four corners (well beyond) on the 4.7". I can one hand 90% on the plus but cannot quite reach the upper left corner. Reachability, while an added step, solves that. Guess I will flip a coin come Sept unless advantages of the plus are simply too much to overlook.

I've owned just about every generation of iPhone and this year I purchased the plus size. For me, it is too big and I will be purchasing the smaller size for the 7. The biggest gripe is that I can't use the phone effectively one-handed.

Why won't you get pro model with extra features like dual camera and smart connector

Well, the smart connector has not been confirmed as of yet. But the dual camera is likely. The only reason the 5.5 is unlikely is due to the size. I have the 6s Plus and and the SE. The 6s Plus is a great device, but like @ARizz44 stated, it's difficult to get used too. I will most likely get the 4.7 Inch. The dual camera probably won't be a huge selling point for me.

I'm excited to see what Apple has in store. Either way, the 4.7 iPhone is the perfect size for me.

I think once we see actual Demo's of the Dual camera on the 5.5 model, I think it will help justify your decision even more in a few weeks at the September Key Note. If the dual camera is not a selling
Point for you, then maybe you will appreciate the 4.7 Model, being it will have most of the same
Capabilities, minus landscape mode, larger battery and the dual camera. Good luck on your decision.

I've been an iPhone user since the iPhone 3G. I had the 3G and the 4 and at that time 3.5 inches seemed perfect. My iPhone 4 for stolen and I decided to try android. I ended up going with the original Galaxy note and I haven't looked back. Since 2012 I've not used a phone smaller than 5.0 inches. I spent a few years using various Samsung phablets before returning to the iPhone in 2014. I've had the 6 plus and now the 6S plus. I'm really happy with the form factor. I briefly tried the iPhone 5S when it came out but it was just too small and has to go back to android until the 6 plus came out. I just can't use small phones anymore. I'm a female and I'm 5"3 with small hands but have no problems using phablets.

5'7, 160 - big hands for a guy my size (but that's not saying much) -

I have used all iPhone screen sizes (3.5, 4, 4.7, 5.5) at length, and had a Galaxy Note 3 mixed in. Currently have a 6+, and have been using it for about a year and a half.

I found the Note 3 to be horribly awkward to use. My current 6+, far less awkward but still a little awkward. I'm about as "used to it" as I can be and 90% of the time I really like the size, but at times it definitely is a bit weird to use, especially one-handed. The 4.7 is honestly the sweet spot in terms of handling, but the big screen just looks SO good.

4" and 3.5" are simply laughable, looking back. When compared side-by-side, my 6+ looks like it could eat my girlfriend's 5SE for lunch.

For the life of me, I can't decide if my next phone will be 4.7 or 5.5.

I'll add that if I spent more time using my phone -- if didn't spend so much time on my laptop and didn't have my Apple Watch (which lets me set my phone aside much of the day) -- I'd probably want a bigger phone than my 5SE.

I was hesitant to post this so please show a little mercy. The topic as a whole has been beaten like a dead horse but I want to take just a minor different approach.

For those of you who have always been iPhone since the early days with minimal experimenting with the competition, how do you feel personally about the two sizes we are offered. Do any of you feel conditioned to the smaller phone? In other words, have you tried the 5.5" and felt odd, or off, using a phone that size?

The reason I am not as interested in former android users is because I am sure many have switched over because of the larger screen sizes. I am a big boy. I am 6'8" 340 with mitts the size of hubcaps and STILL cannot seem to get used to the feeling of wielding the 5.5" version. And it sucks because that is where the premium specs reside. Just curious the thoughts and feelings of long-time users now with a 4", 4.7", and 5.5" having been accustomed to 3.5" and 4" for so many years. Thank you for sharing.

I am a previous Android user and I got the bigger version because of two reasons... Better screen and better battery life. If it wasn't for that TBH I would if been perfectly happy with the 4.7 version and actually would prefer it I think. If the iPhone 7 4.7 inch has a 1080p screen I might go for it.

I actually find the 6 plus to be a tad big for me and find I am putting it in my back pocket just so I can carry it. Isn't a huge issue but then Bluetooth gets disrupted and my headphones break in and out sometimes.

I have been an iPhone user since it was released back in 2007. While I was always fond of the 3.5" screen, I have since embraced the 4" and 4.7" screens as well. I tried 5.5" briefly last year, but since I'm a pretty average guy, it was just way too much phone for me.

I swap back and forth between 4" (SE) and 4.7 (6s). I definitely prefer the 4" for it's true one handed use. But the 4.7" screen is still comfortable for me, but it's not ideal using it one handed.

Pfft try using the 6 plus one handed lol that isn't fun. And yes I've done it before with some success.

How long have you been using the S+? I just got past week three with one of these and it took the full first week to get used to it. After that I dont notice it any more. Well not the cross section of it, but I'll still say the weight is probably about 40-50 grams on the heavy side of what would be idea. But you adapt to just using two hands. I once used the Nokia Lumia 1520 for a couple of months and that was a comparable experience, except that the rounded and thinner shape of the 6S+ make it much more user-friendly.

I think the key is, if you want a one-hander and you want an Apple phone then your only real options is the SE. And do you really want that phone? The 6S is really a two-hander, despite having only a 4.7" screen. Yes, easier to pocket than the 6S+ but still you kind of need two hands to use it. This is the weak spot for Apple's form factor. You can get Android phones of 5.2" or 5.0" inch that are about as tall as the Iphone 6S.

So once you look at it like that, then it's "in for a penny, in for a pound", is the way I see it. If you want a big screen and an Apple phone, then the 6S+ is the logical choice.

If Apple comes out with a 4.3" version of their iphone devices, taking advantage of virtual home button to reduce device size that is where the choice could get difficult.

When I tried out the 6+ last year for a week, I attempted using it one handed. It was pretty laughable to say the least for me. I absolutely loved the screen. The size was just too much.

It's possible but I can only do it for a few minutes and typing is slow. I don't have huge hands either...

There isn't much point in even considering one hand use on any device over 5" screen. And even the 6S isn't really a full time one-hander.

The biggest screen size phone that I've ever been able to one-hand permanently was the Galaxy S4, which had a 5" screen but was surprisingly easy to manipulate. Samsung was foolish to keep jumping around all the time, instead of simply building a franchise around that form factor and improving it.

The longest I made it was 12 days to be honest. I think the biggest issue for me has been that with the 6S, one handed my thumb can reach up past the left and right corners and to the top of the bezel on the phone just using the ol pinky cradle. Everything is one handed without so much as an ounce of thought. It slides in and out of the pockets with ease and is almost unnoticeable in my hands.

With the plus, I cannot reach the top left corner with my thumb and thus either have to swipe or use reachability (first world problems, I know). Between that, the added weight, and generally feeling odd having such a large phone I keep going back to the 6S but desire the screen and camera of the plus. Much of this is mental for me. I mean, I can one handed text/type on it like it is nothing. For whatever reason, I feel odd with such a large phone out in public. Almost like people can see what I am doing on it.

Here's a pic of the 6S in my hand (on the right) vs. a buddy's hand (who is by no means a small man). image.jpeg

Hmm, true. I carry a 9.7" iPad with me daily so having a smaller phone doesn't bother me. I tried the 5.5" 6+ but due to the aspect ratio, I didn't really find it that much better for web browsing compared to the 4.7" 6. If I want to go web surfing, I'd still end up using my iPad. The only pro of the 6+ for me is battery life.

That said, if they make a phablet in iPad mini (7.9" 4:3) or Nexus 7 (7" 16:10) size/form factor, I'd grab that plus smart watch plus wireless headset.

I faced the same choice this year when it came time to get what would become my fourth iPhone since 2007. I had an original for three years, a 3GS for another three, and a 5 for the past three. I love the screen on the 6s plus, but that phone is gigantic. my phone is primarily a communications device for iMessages, email, and a few simple games. I also use it as my primary camera. I was main,y debating between the 6s and the SE, and the SE won out by having the same internal guts in the smaller form factor. It is great for quickly whipping out, banging out a message, and going back to my life.

I do not use my phone much during the day, as I am a teacher. At home, I have iPads for browsing and reading, so the phone is mostly used for out and about needs. For those times, the relatively small screen doesn't bother me.

Yeah the SE is a no-brainer for that use case. Probably even overkill.

When I wasn’t taking work emails, viewing outlook, powerpoints and all that on my phone, I found that I could even use my Galaxy Gear S as a primary smartphone - who really needs a expensive big slab of glass and metal just to call and text? But in the end, from a health point of view I wasn’t comfortable with the idea of having a radio strapped to my wrist.

I've had both 6S and 6S plus as I initially got the plus on launch and ended up swapping it for the standard 6S, however as time has gone I have been starting to want the plus again so for this reason I have decided on going for the 5.5 for the iPhone 7 I think that when you first get it don't give up give it the full week or 14 days to actually come to terms with it because before I just didn't give it enough time to get used to and was determined its not right for me. I am 5'1 and have small hands but I use my phone for so much I think it will be a huge benefit.
