Sooooo while flying over the threads I noticed nobody discusses the sizes for the pro models. I for myself actually thought of getting the max. I probably wouldn't really need, as I don't play with my phone and also do (mostly) basic stuff. But sometimes I thought "damn, a bigger screen would be nice".

Honestly if both would be ready for friday I would probably get the max. But I don't want to wait.

Any current Max User who know the "struggle?"

There is also larger camera sensor on the main camera of the 12 Pro Max.
1st time that the pro models cameras are different.
1/1,7" sensor size is larger than what cheap compact cameras are using (1/2,3").
Good reason for photo enthusiast going the Pro Max route.

" The two Pro models are not equal when it comes to the camera. The larger iPhone 12 Pro Max starts off with a larger 1/1.7” sensor (1.7 µm pixels) that is 47% larger than the 12 Pro and the older 11 Pro Max. Combined with the f/1.6 aperture, this allows 87% more light to reach the sensor. Also, Apple changed the image stabilization to use sensor shift instead of moving the optics lens to counteract movements. This allows it to react faster, making 5,000 adjustments per second. "

I'm sure there's people in the same boat as you.
I've already seen people saying they'd order the 6.1 Pro for release day and send it back on the last day of their return window (don't purchase the 6.1 with the intention of returning it please), then wait a week for the Max to get delivered.

Personally I'm 100% sure I want the 6.1 model but I really don't know if I'll get the pro or the non-pro, the non-pro is already 959€ for 128GB and I'm not sure if I want to spend another 200€ for the 1159€ iPhone 12 Pro.

I was excited to downsize from the 11 Pro Max to the 12 Pro, but when I found out the 12 Pro Max has the better camera, my mind was set.

I actually have been debating heavily for the past few hours if I should just give in and settle with the Pro, but I can't see myself going from a 6.5" screen to a 6.1" screen. My gf's XS Max screen is something I missed since I sold my 11 Pro Max last week.

Hopefully the next 3 weeks fly by!

I honestly hope that people who do that smash their phones the day before their return and need to either have had bought apple care+ or simply can't return it.

I’m torn between the Pro and Pro Max. I wanted to go Pro, but it’s smaller than an X🅁 and I don’t think I’d be happy with it. From my understanding, it’s slightly bigger than the X, which feels so small coming from a Pro Max. Then...there’s the camera difference. If I do get a Pro, I’ll give it to my daughter when the Pro Max is out for preorder. Hard decision to make.

Back in 2015, I got an iPhone 6s Plus thinking that I would like the larger screen.

I did like the larger screen, but only when I could have two hands on the phone. I quickly realized that the majority of my phone usage was one-handed, and I ended up being really frustrated with the large sized phone.

I came from an iPhone 5s, and as soon as the 128GB SE1 came out, I bought it, and sold my 6s Plus.

I haven't regretted the decision once, and I am still using an iPhone SE1.

When it comes time to get another phone, I am thinking of getting the iPhone 12 Mini, or its equivalent when I am ready.

I'd like all the features of the 12 Pro Max in the body of the 12 mini. I'm ready for a smaller phone and prefer to edit videos and photos on my iPad.

I've upgraded every year, starting with the 3G and since Apple introduced the 6 Plus I've switched back and forth between the normal and plus / max sized iPhones. This is the cycle that I go back to the larger size and it happens to coincide with more features than the normal pro version.

Honestly, if it wasn't for 5G this may have been the 1st year that I skipped upgrading. I'm not worried about having the shinny new toy next week and can wait a few more for the Max.
