Surely you meant "wrongly".

Nope, I meant "wrong" which is commonly used as an adverb in the US in informal communication (I consider forums to be a place of informal communication). Since folks here like "proof" in the form of links and pictures, here are some:

http://grammarist.com/usage/wrong-wrongly/
http://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/us/definition/english/wrongly

Wrongly is, of course, also correct, and more correct in formal writing and conversation, and in the UK.

Awww #$%^ it. I'm just going to get a Retina iPad Mini for $299 and use the other $100 dollars in gift cards I have ($400 total) towards an iPhone 6.

iPad "Pro"? LOL. The iPad is already used in "pro" situations, so I feel that particular differentiation is not necessary.

iPad "Plus" would make more sense, as it keeps with the current branding.

I don't see why it would be detrimental for Apple to offer a 12" iPad, unless in typical Apple fashion they cut something out (ie. iPad Mini).

I really don't see that happening, but then again, I can neither understand nor agree with Apple's decisions these days.

I guess that is the only reason why I'm still interested in Apple rumors; sheer curiosity towards their product decisions (even if they have nothing to offer me) and how they compare to the "old Apple".

since iphone 6+ i could give a damn about my ipad. iphone 6+ and macbook is the sweet spot

As long as the iPhone 6+ is still an "iPhone", it can't replace my iPad mini. There is plenty of iPad only software that I can't give up.

Simplify the iDevice Naming/choice

Apple should simplify the iDevice line-up and pack it in with the 4, 4s, 5, 5s, 6, air, etc, etc naming convention *****e. Get back to basics and sell iPhone and iPad. If we followed this naming convention with the MacBooks and iMacs we'd be up to double figures. It's stupid. If we must differentiate use the dimensions.

7" iPad, 5" iPhone, etc etc

Currently there are 4 model iPhones where there really only needs to be 2. 3 at a push... The 5S needs to go. Get the 5s internals into the C. The plus should stay and the iPad mini should go. Or just give the mini phone capability.

Then there are 5, yes 5 iPads. WTF?!
Why do they need to be selling 3 different iPad minis? Or even 2 iPad airs?! Ridiculous. Sort it out Timmay!

Sales aren't declining, they're plateauing. This shouldn't really be a surprise. Thanks to carrier contracts most Americans update their phones every 24 months or so, but tablets are purchased cash, and have an upgrade cycle more in line with laptops. Even if everyone who owns an iPhone also owns an iPad, sales of the latter would trend significantly lower than the former.

Every iPad sale still drives the iOS ecosystem however, and increases the odds somewhat of a Mac sale. I'm sure Apple knows this, and whilst they seem to struggle with the concept that not everyone has 20/20 vision, they must understand that the phone will never be a true replacement for a tablet class device.

Sales are declining. And one can only speculate how good the iPad Mini sells, since Apple does not reveal the mixture of iPad Sales. However, if you look at what is going on out there in the tablet space, the market share of smaller tablets (<8") is losing compared to bigger tablets.

So it is not totally wild to think that the same is going on with iPad Mini sales compared to iPad Air sales.

I sincerely hope, that this is just an uneducated joke! I'm posting this from my beloved iPad mini 2 while riding the subway. Yes, Tim Cook is absolutely right: I'm one of those 100% satisfied customers. The iPad mini is an amazing device. The size is just about right for my daily mobile life. Also, here with me is a MacBook Pro 15", but I really don't want to use it on the go. A full-size iPad was too big for me. It was too bulky to carry around or to hold it in one hand while reading books or watching video content. The mini however, perfectly fits in my palm. It's my first-choose companion device for consuming digital content on the go.

I strongly disagree with the argument that the iPhone 6 plus can seriously be considered a replacement for the iPad mini. It's too small to enjoy eBooks and magizens or browsing full desktop websites and it's too big for mobile websites or its basic phone function (and it might bend in your pockets :D). You also can't view documents on it well, in case you've chosen a paperless way of life. Last but not least, typing with two hands on the iPhone 6 plus is not as convenient as on the mini.

I was very disappointed with Apple's letdown on this years iPad mini hardware—an updated A8 SoC would have been a logical step.

Let's hope these rumors stay rumors! Long live the iPad mini—the best portable tablet within Apple's eco system so far.

Show me an iPhone 6+ that doesn't require an expensive voice/data plan and doesn't cost more when subsidized than the Wi-Fi iPad Mini costs unsubsidized, and you might have a point.

This is Apple we're talking about; when do they care about having customers pay less?

Should be "you're using it wrongLY."

You just failed hard.

Umm, no, that's a perfectly acceptable use, as one might confirm in a dictionary. That's where one can also find "pharisaical."

3 wrong adverb
: in a way that does not agree with the facts or truth : in a way that results in an error

: in a way that is not suitable, proper, etc.

1: without accuracy : incorrectly <guessed wrong>
2: without regard for what is proper or just <was reprimanded for what he had done wrong>
3: in a wrong direction <turned wrong at the junction>
4a : in an unsuccessful or unfortunate way <something went wrong>
b : out of working order or condition
5: in a false light <don't get me wrong>

Somewhat disappointed to read this. See many, many people with iPad minis.
I've been using an iPad 2 since it was introduced, but have an iPad Mini 2 on order to arrive Thursday.

Like others, the iPad Mini 3 upgrade was just too little an update for way too much money.

I wanted more than the 16 gigs my iPad 2 has but did not want to spring for a 64 gig mini. Bought a refurb mini 2 from the Apple online store, got just what I wanted (32 gig) and saved $300 bucks. I don't need a fingerprint sensor on my iPad.

In 3-4 years when I want a new iPad it will be interesting to see what the offerings are. The 12" sounds great for those that need it, but hope they continue with a smaller size than the standard.

Understand the screen size thing with the iPhone 6+, but I don't want to carry around that behemoth for a phone.

I'd still purchase the iPad Mini if I were you. They'll support it long enough to make it worth you while. IF they discontinue it, it will still serve you 3+ years. As posted earlier, I just ordered a Mini 2 refurb at great savings and not worried at all.

My iPad 2 still runs iOS 7 and I don't feel I'm missing anything. Don't mind the non-retina display (though I must say it IS a nice display).

If this is the case I'll have to get one. I really doubt I will ever get a full size or bigger. The mini fits my needs perfectly.

I guarantee that the iPad Mini is a hugely popular device with women. They love it. Ditching it isn't an option for Apple now.

They should pursue it further to be honest. I'm also personally going off my iPad Air size these days. I'd like something smaller.

OK; but I dislike reading books on my iPhones. I read rapidly, and the effect of having to page every two seconds is far too frenetic. I'm also a voracious reader, and the 7" form factor is perfect.

Oh absolutely, I agree - iPad mini is a wonderful device to read books on!

I was just refuting the narrow-minded poster who declared that "You cannot read books or newspapers or browse the web comfortably on an iPhone, period. Forget about any kind of productivity apps."

I can also see that if you read fast, as you do, the page-turn could get irritating due to the frequency with which you have to invoke it on a smaller screen.

Don't S-can the mini

So they're going to scrap one of their better sellers and concentrate on a niche market? Yeah, I don't believe this.

The iPad rMini aka Mini 2 with the TMO chip is the absolute perfect size and cost value for international traveling. Please say that Apple won't S-can the mini.

This is probably the quickest product I've ever seen come and go in a flash.

The iPad mini, while not as old as the iPad 2, there was at least some incentive there to finally kill it off, but the mini ?

People like 7.9-inch.. Now we won't have a choice ?

Seems a shame. A company bring something out because the others have done it, but no suddenly there it seems Apples lagging behind because no one else really makes small devices anymore..

Seems kind of wrong..... We're living in a world where you no longer have a choice..

well actually, u do... eBay.. until it dries up.

I thought Apple were cool.

Crazy. In my experience the mini is especially popular with women and young children. Why freeze out that segment of the market and drive them into the willing arms of the Android makers. They should have updated it in line with the Air last month.

I will admit, I never quite understand it, when remarks like this are made by various people.
But if we are already committed to carrying a full size iPad, I myself could not care if it's 1.5" larger.
This is your opinion. Lots of other people do care about a tablet that is larger. Even that little bit larger is unacceptable to many people. I carry around a full sized iPad. But there is no way in **** I will carry around a larger iPad. I want a portable device, not a device I need a huge bag to cart around.

Right now, the apple line up has something for everyone. Can't see them removing a very popular device anytime soon. Quite frankly its the only iPad I would own. :)

Huh? Are you seriously not getting it? "I could care less" is also used in informal communication. And yes, it is an illogical phrase, but so are many other things in the English language.

I think Apple knows what they are doing. People said they weren't being "wise" when they didn't include a floppy drive in the original iMac. Said it would be a flop without one. Well guess what? :)

Not the same thing. Those technologies were dying. Small tablets are not. (FYI, I was supportive of dropping the floppy, not that it matters.)

Anyway, I know Apple is famous for telling people what they want, not the other way around. We'll see what happens!

Is it too shocking to realize that apple is actually a display panel premium reseller in disguise?

Especially last year it was so blatantly obvious: iPhone 5s, iPad mini, iPad Air; same hardware (A7) was marketed as 3 different devices!
