I'm not brave enough to use just the skin with no case. lol
Applying is pretty simple though - but make sure you use a lot of the fluid that comes with the skin. I didn't and messed up my first application, but the trick is to make the phone nice and wet before applying the skin so that you can position it properly before using the squeegee to remove the excess fluid. Again, I didn't feel comfortable spraying the phone lol, just doesn't 'feel right', but once you do it's pretty straightforward
