I used to make videos like this with my siblings. Luckily there was no such thing as Youtube to publicize it.....

Manners? It's called an opinion.

The opinion is not at issue...it's the manner in which it is expressed.

One can express a negative opinion taking into account the feelings of others, or one can express those same opinions in an harsh, and perhaps, cruel manner.

The "it's my opinion" statement does not excuse one from treating others with some thoughtfulness and a bit of sensitivity.

Just an opinion, mind you...:D

I miss the downvote button

Three kids having fun, what's not to like?

To the OP, ignore the negativity, some people exist to drain the fun out of any situation.

The point you made in the video was actually a good one!! :)

Ok, you want serious constructive criticism?

My good friend Stephen Kilkie is one of Glasgow's up and coming short film directors. He's had movies shown at Canne and the NY film festival.

He didn't start by making silly skits about an operating system, he focused on his favourite genre (thriller/suspense) and worked on it. He has some of his movies on his website and the earlier ones are there to show how far he's come. He featured in some of his earliest films but now he works strictly behind the camera as he has a lot of people happy to work with him.

I'm not "promoting" him, he doesn't need that from me or anyone. However, if making short films is indeed a dream of yours, check out his work.

The negative comments here are embarrassing. My son did a picture for today. Can I post it up here so you can all take the piss out of it??

Idiots.

Well done done on the video. Looks like you had fun doing it :)

Fun video. Nice editing job.

Amazing. That looks a lot like a US Marine Corps class A uniform blouse that the Marines have worn for nearly, if not over, a century. Maybe I'm a bit sensitive, but as a veteran, I take umbrage with the use of that uniform in such a trivializing manner.

As a fellow veteran, get over it.

Thanks for the feedback, now if you don't mind, I am going to visit the St. Louis Arch for the sole purpose of jumping out of the top of it without a parachute.

It's just a skit me and my brother made, we are not paid for it, and it took just a few hours on a lazy day, if you don't like it, why not give ideas on how to improve? I would appreciate critical feedback, as long as it comes with tips on how to do better. :)

Keep it up mate, I make things like this all the time, usually of my kids (I'm obviously a tad older ;)).

You have handled the criticism well, but perhaps this forum isn't quite your target audience? I think it is obvious this is just a bit of fun, the posters above need to get out a bit more instead of hiding behind fruit logos.

I'm not brave enough to post my vids publicly, any good ones get shared with family but that's about it. So you are one up on me!

What equipment do you use? I try to keep mine as simple as possible, i.e. I use my iPhone to record and iMovie/Windows Movie Make to make a trailer or short clip.

Thank you! and yeah I think I'll avoid posting videos here in the future.

The iPhone 5's camera impressed me so that's a good start and is perfect for home videos!

I use a old Canon T1i for filming and just bought some audio equipment, a Rode Video Mic pro and a Zoom H1 to record the audio, for editing I use a late 2009 iMac with FCPX and Adobe Creative Cloud.

I started out the same way about not sharing videos, we used a $10 toy camera that had a 10ft cable that attached to a VHS player to film, no editing, just straight to VHS. It was awful, but it was a start.

[MOD NOTE]
Lighten up folks, its not like you're criticizing a work from Spielberg or Coppola, its a couple of kids

Thank you! ^^^

It appears that for some of our members, anonymity allows for gratuitous cruelty.

Like it video...don't like the video...but is it really necessary to hurt others with opinions expressed with such meanness?

I don't care about the opinion per se...I care about the way it is expressed.

Let's all shoot from the hip here; this forum is not for this kind of nonsense, kids or otherwise. Now everyone who likes the video, give yourselves a big clap on the back then move on.

Judging by the comments in this thread, you think this forum is for adults?

Also, "Clap on the back"??????

OP ignore the haters in this thread. Keep up the good work.

every great director has to start somewhere.
