Hello,

I'm trying to recover a deleted Skype conversation in Mavericks, however with everything I've found on google, I still cannot get it back.

Everywhere points in the direction of "username>/Library/Application Support/Skype/<your skype username>/chatsync"

However there is no Skype folder in application support, even when showing hidden files.

I'm on the latest version of Skype too.

Any help would be appreciated, this is quite frustrating!

If you use Skype, you do have a Skype folder in ~/Library/Application Support.

It's the user's Library, not the Macintosh HD / Library, ok ?

To access the user's Library, in Finder, menu bar, click on "Go", press the Option key to reveal the Library (that is hidden by default).

Hi Bruno, could you please help me to recover deleted chat messages on skype? Grateful if you could explain to me stepwise as I dont understand above response.. I have a Mac. Thank you in advance for you kind response.

Hi Beatrice,

do you have a Time Machine backup ?

If no, I don't think you can recover a deleted message on Skype.

If you have a Time Machine backup, you should be able to recover the deleted message by restoring a file or a folder located in your_account / Library / Application Support / Skype.

But I must say that I never needed to do this, therefore I can't confirm that it actually works.
