Skype contacts missing

Some of my contacts are missing in skype.

Some are there but quite a few are not.

some of my work contacts are missing, like my suppliers.

I have deleted and reinstalled skype.
if I select show only online contacts none show.
If I select how all a handful show a online, so why not show in the "show online" list.

I will try my imac at home but not helping me at work at moment.

All my contacts show on my home imac skype.

so if signed into same account why do they not show on the macbook pro?

It make no sense.

Well I fixed it by signing into skype on my iphone, something I almost never do.

Then suddenly all my contacts showed up.

Not sure why but they now all show on the macbook pro
