So this is pretty much iChat AV. Wonder what's the tally of people who use Skype.

does iChat AV allow you to call land and mobile lines anywhere in the world for around 1cent to 20cents a minute?

does iChat AV have a service that gives you a landline in one of many countries that people can dial and get you on your machine? or leave a voice message if your not there?

I'm sorry but I dont think Skype is anything like iChat.. I use both, frequently for various purposes....

In iChat's defence, I think the video quality is superior (for now)... can I video chat with iChat to a windows user? I'm not sure...

can you SMS (text message) someone's mobile phone from iChat?

can you get iChat for 3G enabled and wifi mobile phones?

hrmmmm

Skype has become extremely powerful, and is very cheap in my opinion. I think I'm hooked! hah

as for the tally, there's an average of 4,500,000 people logged into Skype during the quiet period, and around 7,000,000 people logged in during busy periods...

not a bad userbase. I wonder how this compares to MSN messenger.

I -was- a big MSN user... not anymore.. adware, spam, and bloated :( convincing friends to move away from MSN isnt easy either!

Windows Messenger Live can call phones now and so can the newest Yahoo! Messenger, so Skype has competition but the voice quality is great on Skype and it's a lot more stable than iChat is.

I hope that the video works well because I'd like to consolidate all of my online friends. I've gotten a few to switch but they're still hooked on their mobile phones.
