Skype Is Finally Shutting Down on May 5

I use Skype everyday at work and have been doing so since November 2013. Although we've tried alternatives, e.g. Discord, nothing has come close in terms of ease-of-use and cross-platform-support, and clear separation between own and others' messages. I'm very sad to see it go, and frankly I don't know what we'll do. I find Microsoft Teams heavy and horrible, so my team and I will probably go down the Discord-route...

A little strange to see Skype go bye-bye. Used Skype FaceTime, messenger and Team. Team I used to do live broadcast for live shows years ago. But seeing Skype go bye-bye is sad.

How so?

I guess maybe the is a US only feature..but anyone with a google account can create a google voice account. Gives you a phone number and you make text and make calls through the app.

Yes, you need a US phone number to get a GV number.
