The latest version (1.4.0.35). Are you putting in the number properly?
+1XXXYYYZZZZ

I'm actually running 1.4.0.49. And yes, I'm putting in the number just like that - I've tried other ways just in case and other numbers as well, but no luck so far...

I figured out something that worked for me. I tried using the widget and it worked. So I looked in my call log and it showed the number with a + at the beginning. So I tried another number but put a + at the beginning and it worked.

Just like the instructions (and my post) say to do.

 Sorry I must have missed that. The last post I saw was someone complaining that they couldn't get it to work, and then I ended up having the same problems as them so I figured it hadn't been resolved.

Yes, but that doesn't work for me... it really shouldnt be that hard, but I don't know what else to do... I've definitely dialed the number correctly and I've tried multiple numbers, but they all give me "Failed: No SkypeOut" as an error...

Ah, that's probably because you're in France, the deal is US and Canada only. :(

Here's what it says on my end:

But it's still free calling peer to peer, regardless of where, right?

After looking into it on Skype's forums some more, it would appear that certain IP addresses (mostly those starting with 7) do not seem to be working yet. Skype is reportedly working on this, however, so if yours doesn't work (like mine) then I guess we just have to wait...

WOW This is awesome. I FINALLY got on the skype bandwagon at like midnight last night. I was about to buy $10 worth of skype credit today and when I got home, here is this wonderful annoucement!
I love the internet!

Wow... you sound just like me... what adapter are you using? That's one thing I've been wanting to get... unfortunately for me they don't have any numbers in my area code yet... otherwise I'd be all over this.

I got this one. It ships later this week so I'll let you know how it does.

Doh! I didn't even think of getting one from Skypes web site... still stinks they don't have numbers in my area code. Maybe I'll get a China number instead. At least then I won't have to talk to anybody...

We get Skype calls to cells from South Am., Cyprus and Pakistan.

Ok, this morning, all working fine, it was not me it was them. and they responded to my questions fast and thoroughly.

I'm impressed with Skype and it's service. Definitely I will buy the service when this freeby is over. Which is what they wanted!

Skype and Bluetooth

Skype is indeed great. It has basically replaced my phone.

I am having an unexpected Mac Mini issue, the mic input sucks. It doesn't pick up much of anything at all (yes I enabled it).

I was thinking of a bluetooth headset but the version which is sold on the Skype website doesn't support Mac.

Does anyone have any experience with this.

Maybe I am just better off getting a USB headset.

Uh... shouldn't this thread be titled "North American Skype users rejoice"?

No chance of this working in South Africa is there?
