The new headphones with mic have arrived and Ive had a chance to play around a bit with Skype via Fring. Overall I'm quite pleased with the performance of the touch on Skype, the sound quality is not as clear as the PC and I would say there is a bit more delay, but no problem to carry on a conversation. Just one more bonus feature on a cool toy.

I tell you what I did. I set my 2gen ipod touch to receive calls and I even have voicemail incase I don't have wifi. I can then later check it from a regular phone or the message is also emailed to me as a wav file.

I also have skype and tried to go that way but where I am I can't get a number to receive calls. I found It costs about 8 bucks a month to have a number and voicemail. Works awesome, plus I think the quality is better then Skype.

Once you get an account with them and everything is set up. Just go into fring, then to more, add-on's, SIP and enter all the info. It's just that easy.
