SL Server and Software Update question.

Ok I have a question. I am messing around with SL Server and I am trying to be able to have software updates come from the server. This is not the issue.

I am trying to have many machines (random macs) be able to just plug in download the updates, install and be finished.

How would I be able to do this. Do I have to create a "public" workgroup. Is there such thing as a guest workgroup that they can attach to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will need to point those machines at the proper server by modifying the SoftwareUpdate plist. With these random machines, you can do it manually or use a script like this:

The machines will not have to be bound or any other configuration done. Just change the Catalog they point at.
