Does every one's MP turn off the fans completely during extended sleep? I have 0 issues with it crashing or resuming from sleep properly, but I can hear the fans stay on while sleeping.

I could've sworn at least at the start, the fans would turn off after a few minutes once the system cooled. Wonder if I need an SMC reset ... ?

Update: fixed. SMC reset did the trick and the fans turned completely off on next sleep. Random glitch that crept up.

Glad to hear that. Out of interest: Do the fans stay off during an extended sleep period? My rear fan always turns on after about 2 hours of sleep and never turns off again und till the next wake-sleep cycle.
Also: How exactly did you perform the SMC reset? Just pulling the power cord for a couple of minutes?

Good question - when I jumped on the computer this morning, I didn't notice the blower (rear) fan on but I guess depending on any background activity it might kick the fan back on? I should check again tonight.

I held the power button on the top of the MP for "10 seconds" from shutdown - it turns on, resets, then shuts itself off again. I think both ways will work for T2 'powered' Macs? I prefer the shutting down, then holding the power button myself.
