Hi,

I recently set up a new AW 8 for Sleep Tracking using a Sleep Schedule (with alarm). This worked well the first couple of nights: Sleep Focus would enable on both iPhone & Watch and then my alarm would only go off on my watch in the morning.

However a couple of days ago the wake up alarm suddenly started going off on both my Watch and iPhone. The iPhone alarm starts a couple of milliseconds late so it's out of sync and that cacophony really puts someone in a bad mood first thing in the morning.

I also noticed that my Watch was asking me to input my Passcode after waking up the mornings that happened. All data during the night was tracked: sleep, pulse, blood oxygen, ... I'm wearing a Braided Solo Loop band just for sleep that's tight on my wrist so I don't risk having Wrist Detection kick in & lock my Watch. My iPhone is on my nightstand next to me and Bluetooth is always on so there shouldn't be any connection drop between both devices.

Any ideas as why this happens all of a sudden?

There's no way in choosing the device to where a Wake Up alarm from Sleep Schedule is sent to, otherwise that would be a solution (Watch, iPhone or both)... Now I'm just stuck having these out of sync alarms on both devices while before it worked perfectly fine on just my Watch.

I do tend to use my iPhone a little bit during Sleep Focus when I have a really hard time falling asleep but that should not interfere with which device the alarms will go off in the morning I would think?

If there is no fixing this I was thinking of enabling Silent Mode on my Watch before Sleep Focus kicks in. Maybe that will suppress the alarm sound on my Watch?

It does sound as if the Watch is detecting it isn't on your wrist at some period, hence why it's asking for the passcode. But it shouldn't be doing that if it's tight enough.

You could add an automation for the Watch to go into Silent Mode for when Sleep Focus is enabled under Shortcuts on your iPhone, and then turn off when Sleep Focus is disabled. But the phone alarm will still go off and it doesn't solve the underlying issue.

Could you try a different band and see if that helps?

I have tried 2 different sizes of the Solo Bands, I have a size 8 & 9 with 8 being the tightest but had the same issue with both bands. There should be a Sport Loop around here somewhere that I could try.

According to information I read online most sensors stop working too when the watch locks because of Wrist Detection failure but I have all my data in my Health app from those nights...
