Sorry for the stupid question, but I can't find the answer anywhere - I have a 2019 MacBook Pro, does it have a Sleep Indicator Light (SIL)? None of the Apple support articles show it, or indicate what models have it. I know what the SIL looked like in MacBooks from about 10 years ago. I don't think my MacBook has one, does it? Does anything replace the SIL functionality of indicating the sleep state of the laptop when closed?

Thanks!

My new mbp m1 14 doesn’t have one. It also is booby trapped with starting up if you touch it to check. This is the sort of nanny make the decision for you attitude that has become the norm. Was a time when the extreme customizing of your own Mac was a selling point. Having squeezed over a decade out of my last MacBook Pro, I was taken aback at losing the status light. Pointless removal. And on a machine that delights me every time I use it. I’m glad I waited for Apple silicon in a new PowerBook and missed butterfly keyboards with touchbars, so I guess losing the sleep light must be tolerated.

I’m sure after 2 years he got over the loss
