hey guys is it normal for the mbp to have sleep issues. i would sleep it, carry it to the library in my backpack and then id open it up and it wouldnt wake. other times i just close the lid and when i come back and open it the computer is really slow. Am i the only one having these issues or is it normal?

I have problems with waking from sleep and then everything running really slow. I've stopped using sleep unless I absolutely need to, it's frustrating

Have you preformed the latest Firmware update and the latest SMC update.

Seems to have fixed my problem when my MBP would freeze when coming out of sleep with an external monitor connected to it.

You should try the latest update and see if that clears up the issues you are having.

Same problem here. I never shut it down, always use sleep. It needs a hard powerdown once every couple of days, after not being able to wake up properly.

    Try this

    http://www.jinx.de/SmartSleep.html

Fixed my problems. Turn off safe sleep completely and delete the sleep image when prompted. Works fine and saves a bit a battery power since the sleep image is no longer being copied to the disk before sleep is activated.

Just get in the habit of saving your work a bit more often.

I had a similar issue, mbp would sometimes not wake from sleep.

I did a smc reset and all is well.

I taught my MBP to count sheep. Now it has no problem sleeping.
