i recently brought a new white late '08 macbook which i upgraded to 4gb,

when i put it to sleep for say 12hrs, would 10% points be a normal loss of battery life for a 12hr stint? thats like 1% a hour.

other people ive talked to say yes and no.

what do you think? if u think its wrong, how do i fix it?

thanks for the advice!

I say no. You should expect about 4% to 5% loss no more.

See my post above if you missed it.

If the battery is clearly malfunctioning, it is covered by warranty. Normal drain is expected, though.
