I have been getting mixed answers about this. Should I just put my iMac to sleep every night, or shutdown and reboot in the morning? Please put your answer as well as what you do! Thanks!

Sleep mode for sure. Macs actually defrag themselves when in sleep mode.

Even so, there is no need whatsoever to ever shut down. I had my last iMac on for almost 5 years straight except when I had to restart because of an update and the like.
