Hello,

The new WatchOS is now finally able to track sleep. I was playing around with this new functionality and I have a few challenges. I don’t have problem with wearing my watch at night, but I have a problem with not charging it at night. A watch isn’t a phone and charging a watch during the day is cumbersome.

I was now thinking, to charge my again only at night, but in this case I would miss the sleep tracking. I’m wondering now, how others are using sleep tracking and how they deal with charging.

Just put the watch on charge in between things you do during the day. It’s enough to keep it ticking. Like when you go to take shower maybe or just idle on the sofa watching tv etc.

Charging while showering seems really the way to go. Hmm, somehow not happy with it.

Are there any other good sleep trackers, that are working well with Apple Health?

I use Sleep++. Nice simple design. Complements the built in sleep tracking with a better UI on the iPhone.

when i come home after work i put it on the charger. 55%
i take it off the charger when it is full.
i wear it to sleep.
in the morning it is about 85-87%
i put it on the charger while i shower and get dressed. Now it is at 95%

I typically will charge my watch in the morning before going to work. Plus it should charge faster (is it only Apple Watch 6?) so by the time I leave the door it's already 100% fully charged and my phone notifies me that it's fully charged.

I’ve been using the SleepWatch app for years, tried using Apples for a week but now am back to just SleepWatch.

I have multiple watches so no issues with charging, ones always ready for bed.

How do I get back average time in bed? On the sleep app I’m only able to see average time asleep. Somehow the average time in bed has disappeared.

Thank you very much for the replies. I've decided to go with AutoSleep and my Watch is charging at night. Not perfect, but at least the time while I'm in bed is tracked.

I charge during my evening shower and getting kids ready for bed.

I use AutoSleep.

Apple Watch SE can last me two days tops 64% charge next morning from a 100% charge the day before (same time)

So I charge mine with my morning schedule when I have nothing to do and everyone is asleep
