My sleep/wake button is crooked: slopes to almost flush with top surface as you move towards the middle. Still works fine, but looks off. Based on others' experience, is this the kind of thing I can get an exchange for? Got mine on 7/11, so past the 14 day period...

If you think they will exchange for this reason, I have a few questions about the process:

1. Are these transactions initiated through a Genius appointment?
2. Will I get a new phone or some type of refurbished unit?
3. Restocking fee?
4. Will my FAN account (added after purchase) be affected by the change in handset and the fact that Apple cannot deal with FANs?

I have the same issue, but I don't think I'll try to exchange it as it seems to me to be a minor cosmetic issue. That being said, I'm curious what you find out and if it's a simple swap for a new unit, I may reconsider.

Mine is tilted as well. Anyone else's like this? Could this lead to a bigger issue? Like it coming out or something one day?

UPDATE: I went to the Genius Bar today and they exchanged it without any problem. However, now that I've got my new one at home I think it has the same problem...oh well.

I exchanged mine today as well. The sleep/wake button still slopes, and mine is 88830 on the serial #. However, my glass screen issue is corrected and it sits flush now.

Mine is also sloped. :( Now do I exchange it for my 4th iphone and just keep it? This one has zero dead pixels, no dust under neith the screen and no light leaking like my others did. What should I do..... keep it, which I can't see it because I have the Griffin Wave case on it or return it hoping that the problem is fixed and run the risk of getting something wrong.

Don't worry about it. My first gen iphone had a tilted button, so does my 3G. It's probably because the contact doesn't sit directly underneath the middle of the button...well, that's what I tell myself.

i would say the sloppedd wake button should be the least of your worries, if you have no other issues with the phone i wouldn't risk exchanging it for another one just so you have a flat button, but you end up with one that has dead pixels, or negative black, or a light leak, etc

i recommend getting it exchanged in a few weeks as the builds of these phones become better. i wish i had done the same thing when i replaced my iPhone. good luck

Isn't it supposed to be like that?

If you look at it from the back, it is actually aligned to the horizontal edges of your phone.

It just looks tilted because the phone starts curving towards the middle of the button.
