Definitely a huge problem. However, I do think the analyst could have handled this way better. Cryptic tweets and messages are not a way to relay this sort of information to the company, especially if you’re an analyst.

Not trying to blame him in any way. But I do think he could have handled this way better.

Yet another reason not to deal with shady third-party knock-offs. Questionable quality, non-existent security, stolen design. Buy OEM or go home.

If anyone doesn't know, SlickWraps already had an incredibly sleazy track record. Constant discounts from false prices (false advertising), failing to deliver on orders, failing to respond to customer service, alleged artwork theft... not to mention their ridiculous social media bots posting fake pro-SlickWraps BS on Reddit and mass downvoting anything against them. I unfortunately fell for the fake sales when I didn't know better and got my info in their system...

SlickWraps is a true train wreck company. I'm absolutely enraged yet not surprised by their poor handling of this.

Now, I'm really curious to see what charges they will face from GDPR violations.

Glad I never did business with them. Especially now.

Slickwraps may well be a train wreck of a company, but that's not the issue. The problem is that each of us has a dozen other Slickwraps in our lives – our physician, our accountant, our grocer, pharmacist, online merchants, discount stores and so on – willing and ready to ignore the security of our personal information for the sake of business expediency.

Until there's some sort of universally-applied financial penalty or jail sentence for criminal carelessness with what should be protected personal information, there's no real incentive for any business or entity to clean up its act.

Slickwraps isn't sorry this happened; they're sorry it happened to them. They did nothing to prevent it, weren't concerned about it and probably aren't even bothered much after the fact. There's simply no consequence except for a few savvy customers walking away, and there are always plenty of other folks willing to give any online business the benefit of the doubt.

I've ordered twice from them. The first time they shipped out the product and the product was stuck with USPS which is not their fault. After a month I contacted them and they quickly responded and shipped out a replacement.

I ordered from them over a month ago and I don't believe they ever shipped anything. The tracking number says "acceptance pending". They definitely charged my credit card though.

I've been emailing them for about 3 weeks now and I only received an automatic reply.

Time to call up my credit card company and file a dispute.

Though this sentiment is definitely true, it isn't at all applicable here 😛
Apple doesn't make skins for their devices. Nor do they sell OEM replacement parts to consumers in general.
