I wish I could disable this function, it seems to be an annoying additional step to get to the springboard. I have my iPhone in a casemate and have never accidentally hit either of the two "ON" buttons and if I did it would most likely just turn back off in a minute.

    Any thoughts?

Turn off auto-lock and don't lock it manually?

I personally feel its a cool feature but I agree with you there should be an option to turn it off for those who aren't amused by it anymore.

I don't think it is unnecessary. It is an innovative solution to preventing you phone from accidently dialing 911 for example.

If you have an open face case it's actually fairly useful, I once managed to dial someone from my pants. I assume the heat from my leg and the phone leaning against it as I was sitting was enough to push some buttons....
