I wish I could disable this function, it seems to be an annoying additional step to get to the springboard. I have my iPhone in a casemate and have never accidentally hit either of the two "ON" buttons and if I did it would most likely just turn back off in a minute.

Any thoughts?

I personally feel its a cool feature but I agree with you there should be an option to turn it off for those who aren't amused by it anymore.

The "Garden" state
If you have an open face case it's actually fairly useful, I once managed to dial someone from my pants. I assume the heat from my leg and the phone leaning against it as I was sitting was enough to push some buttons....
