I preferred The Darkness

I only ever played the demo for Bioshock off of XBL but after playing through The Darkness I just couldn't get into Bio for some reason. The plasmid stuff was cool but not as cool as some of the darkness powers IMO.

Both are great games. But there's that section in The Darkness (when you go back in time to that surreal world) that really sucked ass, but the rest of the games was class.

BioShock I find a better game overall though. :)

I haven't player The Darkness but I can say one thing. The Bioshock demo doesn't do the full game justice. Once you complete the Welcome To Rapture level and progress to the Medical Pavilion level you realize how unimpressive the demo really is.

Finished this weekend (spoilers)

Firstly, dammit, I got the bad ending. I only harvested the damn little sisters because I thought ADAM was important, but by the end, it was very apparent that freezing stuff and beating it death didn't hold a candle to a nice shot of exploding buck or a crossbow bolt to the head. I started saving them after they helped me escape after killing Ryan, but dammit if it wasn't too late.

Again, disappointed with the story's ending. I understand that cinematic scenes can only be so long, but I thought that there could have been a little bit more too it then the whoops-you-ended-the-world 2 minute blurb. For all the narration the game had, the ending didn't do the content justice.

But yeah, the plasmids definitely should have had more of a balance with the weapons. Sure they were neat, but again, rather unnecessary.

That said, the graphics still far outdo Halo 3's, as does interactability. The whole environment of Rapture was quite awesome, but the game could have been an absolute classic if the combat system and the ending were a little more thought out.

BTW, thanks to MacRumorUser for the hint about jiggling the hard drive should you get the three rings of death. Was really, really ticked for a short period of time. Although, it still is slightly worrisome. If your car doesn't start and you hit the battery once or twice to find it working again, still doesn't change the fact that it stopped working for a bit.
