Hi all!

I just got my iPhone 13 Pro Max and the slimmest Pitaka case in aramid fiber.
I had the Pikata case on my old iPhone Xs Max as well and loved it! However with this phone the edges of the case raises over the screen.
So when I swipe with my finger to left or right (to go back for example) it´s a quite sharp edge that is in the way.

There are no edges on top or in the bottom so that is really nice.

Does anyone know of a very slim case (just to get a better grip on the phone) that does NOT have a "raised lip" around the front screen? So that the finger doesn´t get caught on the edge of the case. Maybe there isn´t one in existence but I have got to ask :)

I was about to pull the trigger and order a pitaka air for the 13 pro max as well! What do you mean the the edges are sharp? You mean the lip is quite high? Or that is literally sharp?

Could you post some photos? :)

This picture is with a spigen screen protector. Without it the lip is higher.
The lip is thin and not so pleasant to run your finger over. Not really sharp but I lack a better word to describe it.
Id love to have the edge to end below the screen instead. Like on my iphone xs max.

Oh i get it. What i understand is that the case doesnt "hug" the phone on the edges.

Yep. I’ve experienced this with the Air Case for 13 Pro. Pitaka claims that it is a defect and they are sending me a replacement.

I'm also looking for a similar case. I hated the lip that the ultra slim cases had with the iPhone 12.

I had the Memumi case for the 12 Pro Max that I used before my leather case arrived and it was exactly what you’re looking for. Very thin, no lip above the screen. Just very slippery so keep that in mind. I see they have 13PM case that’s been updated so you may want to give it a try.

I bought the Totallee Frosted Case , there's no lip whatsoever, only around the lenses, this case with the silver pro max looks fantastic, and it comes in different colors too.

What is the point of a case without a lip? Isn't the whole point of a case to prevent cracking the glass?

These type of cases are only meant to protect from scratches and not drops. The ultra thin cases are not like the leather cases. When they have a lip it is usually a sharper edge.

After replying to this thread earlier I went and found this SwitchEasy case on Amazon. It’s $15 and as thin as those other ultra-thin cases, at just 3.5mm thickness. The material is super comfortable to hold and doesn’t feel like it’s about to fly out of my hand. This is a nice alternative for when I don’t need MagSafe (which unfortunately was pretty much zero times last year 😂). I love MagSafe too much and the feel of the leather cases. Nonetheless, this ultra thin case is nice to have on hand.

Looks nice. Does your phone have a screen protector?

That looks great. Is it slippery? A lot of these ultra slim cases can feel very slick and little grip.

It doesn’t have the same grip as my leather case, but compare to similar cases from last year the material seems to be less slippery from what I can tell.

I totally get what you are saying, I had a Pitaka case on my 12 Pro max and even though it was my favorite case, I always felt like the lip obstructed the gestures and flow within IOS.

I use my cases mostly for grip rather than protection, that is why this year I choose this leather skin from Nomad:

It will arrive this week.I will let you know the results.

I purchased this case over the weekend, so I'm waiting for it to arrive. If you don't mind, I'm hoping you can answer some questions while I wait. How are the buttons compared to the Apple Leather? From what I can tell, it's basically a Peel or Totallee case with covered buttons. Does that sound correct? How does it feel on the pinky?

@mouzouris Yes, absolutely. It's supposed to be here on Friday. I'll be putting it on my phone Saturday morning, so I'll let you know then.

The buttons are pretty solid, no complaints. I haven't use this case as much because I always go back to the leather after a few days (MagSafe wallet FTW) but to me it actually felt better than the Totallee. The materials feel less slippery. I'm probably going to use it some over the holidays.
