Sling Television app and "npMoveMediaPlayer"

Using the OS X app for Sling TV (from Dish), and it uses a "npMoveMediaPlayer" per Activity Monitor.

While viewing certain channels (such as ESPN), this "player" taxes the CPU at well over 100%. Within seconds, the fans are at full blast.

Is Dish this terrible at writing apps? What on earth is this "player," and why aren't they using another option? 😡
