Wish I could log into it -- when I try with my existing subscription I get an error that I'm "not subscribed to any channels". Chat support responded that they weren't quite ready for the general release when it became available in the app store...

You were expecting that Dish would support a 4 year old hardware???

Netflix does, so yes? I don't feel like overpaying for a device that does everything I need just for Sling TV. I guess I'll just continue using Airplay mirroring and my Roku 3.

Netflix was already on the ATV 3. Notice that Netflix hasn't been able to change the UI on the 3rd gen to match their current UI on other devices? Thats because the ATV 3 doesn't have any apps. Only the ATV 4 has apps.

If you are fine with airplay, then carry on. But don't be upset that new services decide to ignore older tech.

The app won't even load for me. I get an error.
Does anyone know if you can pay for service through iTunes, or do you have to go to their site to setup payment with a credit card?

I will probably subscribe to this so that I can watch these channels on my Apple TV which is connected to my projector in the living room. I'd rather pay Time Warner and use their streaming App since that would get me all the channels. I currently use that App on my iPad and on my Mac and it works well (strangely better on my iPad then on my iMac, though my iMac is a 2011 and so older than iPad Air 2). But Time Warner does not allow its App on Apple TV. This will probably lead me to cancelling my Time Warner subscription and then subscribing to HBO through App store. But if Time Warner comes to Apple TV I will probably be back. It will be useful especially in connection with One-Sign in the Fall.
