It works.
Sometimes if the connectional/data speed is not that goood it stops and goes but usable.

I'm testing it out right now on Edge, watching the Dan Patrick show (Dtv 101). I get 5 bars on Edge and it's working fine. Obviously a step down in quality when compared to wifi or 3G.

I used the slingplayer app quite a bit on vacation on my original iphone and as long as I had a good signal it was watchable.
