Love using the Slingplayer app on the ipad over wifi,
but I find its near useless over 3G and end up using the iPhone instead.

I'm sure its due to lack of bandwidth, is this a common issue?

I'm not sure I understand?? I use slingplayer over 3g on my BB torch it's as good as I could imagine.
Do you mean streaming over 3g on the iPhone is good but not on the iPad?

Using the lower resolution Slingplayer on the iPhone is fine over 3G.

The issue is with the newer HD verision of Slingplayer for the iPad.
It's amazing over wifi, but using it over 3G results in stutters and is generally unwatchable.

I see. Can you lower the res on the iPad app? Over 3G... the max resolution you should use is about 480p.
I have the app for all 3 devices but I've not used the iPad app yet.

Yes it has a SQ mode but just not worth using,
the smaller iPhone screen and its app looks much better.

Yeah, my sling box looks pretty crappy on 3G with my iPad. Wifi is the way to go.

Is it just a case of actual download 3G speeds for most of us are terrible?

I seldom get over 1mbs according to the speedtest.net app.

Its a hit or miss for me in the bay area on hq. At times it buffers every few secs other times it works great with good quality. Picture is best on wifi though.
