SLOOOW syncing Apple TV 1

Something recently happened and my Apple TV cleared all content. I suspect its something to do with the last iTunes update, but i'm not sure.

In syncing back, it is taking a rediculous amount of time to copy content back.. It is running at about 2gb an hour. I thought this might be a WIFI issue, so last night I connected them with ethernet, and the speed didn't improve at all !

Has anyone experienced this ? I am at a loss as to what has happened unless its a bug introduced into iTunes.

Any suggestions are appreciated !

Not sure officially, but it has always worked.

I should point out that streaming runs fine. Its only syncing thats slow.

Yes, apple still supports atv 1 in terms of content. Not software updates though.
