I have a 2012 iMac, i7, 16 GB RAM. When hardwired, the internet speed is around 250-350 GHz. My old Windows 7 (i7 with 16 GB RAM and new Windows 10 (newer i7 with 32 GB RAM) internet speeds are around 950-980 GHz hard wired. Does the older iMac somehow prevent faster speeds due to outdated hardware or such? On wireless, the iMac is about 200-250 GHz.

Thank you for the help.

I am confused by the units you are using. Hertz are a measure of frequency, not network throughput. And do you mean "internet" speed (defined by your ISP/package), or speeds between hosts on the local LAN? Need more info!

Oh my...not GHz but MB speed! Yes, that was confusing. The speed I'm referring to is using Xfinity speed test so ISP I believe.
