I am using D-link DNS-343 network drive connected on a switch (1000Mb) the response time for accessing from the MAC os is horrible it make minutes to get folder contain in finder. But from the same IMac I try to connect to the same network driver by using the windows 10 installed in the parallel desktop the response time is instantaneous.

Why MAC OS is so slow to access a network drive?

    It can't be the hardware.

The DNS-343 is setup in Raid 5 6TB

IMac as 32gb of RAM hard wired to the switch

    Thanks

I see the same thing when first connecting to a network drive. It looks like MAC OS is indexing the folder contents and that takes a while. After the first massive wait, subsequent views looks to be normal speed. Unfortunately it seems ejecting then remounting the drive makes if forget everything and slow access happens again.

YEs, if I copy a large file in MAC os and the same file in windows 10 on the same MAC, the copy is much faster when it is done in windows.
