My apps are downloading at a snail pace over wifi today and my music is being weird and it will start and stop playing songs and it's only happening over wi-fi.. Anybody else experiencing this today? Everything else is fine and fast over wifi. Maybe it's apples side? Everything was working fine before today. I tried the usual unplug and plug back the router trick and tried changing my dns to opendns. Nothing different. Still taking like an hour to download a 40mb app and my music keeps stuttering.

I'm experiencing the same slow download issues. On my iPhone and Mac, via the App Store.

I'm getting this as well. Only in the App Store and iTunes. I can't even stream an Apple Music song. Other than that, everything is fine. Downloading at 300mbps

I also use an Airport Extreme. I even tried an old router and it didn't work. The funny thing is, if i'm wired to my modem, everything works fine. It's just through my airport.

I'm having the same problem. Have also tried everything from resetting the router, to changing the DNS, but nothing. I'm wondering if it's an ISP issue.

I have TWC. This is what worked for me. I changed the DNS to the second one on the list. Although I'm not sure how I feel about this DNS server. My downloads are back to normal.

It's the strangest thing. Even apple support can't figure it out

Same issue here, for the last 3 days. 2 separate physical locations, 2 x different devices (iPad and iPhone)

Grr

That is strange. I also have TWC, and have tried changing the DNS, including to the one that worked for you. Still nothing. This has been going on for at least a few days, now.

I apologize, its actually number three on the list. Give it a shot!

Unfortunately changing DNS does nothing for me either, not that I would find it an acceptable solution if it did.

iTunes downloads in my Macbook Pro also super .

I had the same issue a while back. Everything other than Apple was downloading fast. Turns out the issue was with the ISP.

Same issue here. Same ISP. TWC. Changing the DNS didn't help.

Edit: Following f61985's suggestion to change it to DNS.WATCH, 3rd on this page, actually did help. I first tried Google DNS and that made no difference. But DNS.WATCH has actually made the rest of my internet extremely slow. Slow browsing, fast downloads. I think once I'm done downloading what I need from the App Store I'll change it back to TWC default DNS or Google. Effing TWC...

It actually screwed up my siri searches on Apple tv as well. I took the DNS off and is still not working. Wrong to this website and tried the first DNS out and everything works great and fast. Feel free to try it. Hopefully it all gets fixed soon as it is annoying to keep messing with settings.

I've been in touch with Apple for the last 5 days. Engineers are examining all my logs from iOS and OSX. There is a problem with my devices pinging their update server when on wifi. Only wifi, not cellular.

The server is gs.apple.com

None of my devices can reach it on wifi.

Changing DNS is only a band-aid, if you can even get it to work in the first place. Ultimately it's a server issue. Even the senior advisor couldn't ping the server.

Sometimes when I have this issue its because my ISP's route to Apple is congested. This is normally the fault of the ISP not investing in their network interconnect points. If you can establish a VPN connection sometimes this is enough to change the route that gets used to reach Apple and it will mask the problem.

Same issue. How do you change your DNS?

Never mind. I just turned wifi off.
