hello i am new to mac 3 months and i plugin an external monitor side by side when i took my macbook pro 2.4 2gb on a trip i noticed a slow boot every-time the gray screen (before the gray one with the apple logo) will take for ever. next the dock will occasionally stop magnifying even if the feature is turned on. last the computer will restart if i where to leave it alone for a while and my log in screen would be up. my phone support is expired and i need help it is driving me crazy. the restarting thing is what drove me to the edge.

slow booting unresponsive dock and restart without my consent

no but i have yet to see another dock problem and no restart in but the boot is still slow if hold option key and select the mac partition then i go right to it and boots just like it sould. I is like the post test is taking a long time or it takes a long time to find the partitions. something like that
