There should be a way to disable the arbitrary "slow charger" warning in iPhoneOS 26. At first, the phone gives the normal countdown until a specific charging target is attained, but if on a 5W charger, gives the warning, which is basically asking "are you one of the poors?" There's no reason it can't provide the same countdown.
 
It could but the results would vary wildly.

Using standards like USB PD the iPhone communicates with the charger to adjust charging rate based on the phones metrics (battery temp, current, etc). This allows it to have a relatively accurate timer with fast chargers vs slow chargers.
