right after i restart my computer, and occasionally at random times, my macbook will run incredibly slowly. programs that run quickly normally such as firefox takes a minute or two to open where as when it normally runs on here it takes about one bounce on the dock and then opens
i was wondering if anyone had an explanation to this or a way to end it, it proves to be quite annoying at times and i dont think it should be happening

Have you looked in System Preferences/Accounts/Login Items? See if there's some application(s) in there that's not needed or taking a lot of resource.

If Firefox is already in the memory it takes less time to launch.

After a reboot no app is in RAM, thus taking a bit longer.
