Slow downloads

Did a search and couldn't find anything related. When doing the software upgrade downloads, my MBP is getting slower and slooooooooower. Today after an hour of trying to DL the recommended upgrades, Mac OS, Safari, iTunes and something else I forget, the progress bar shows 54 HOURS remaining!! I mean really!! WTF???


Suggestions??

whats your internet connection rated at?

Not sure, I'm on Comcast and connected via a Linksys wireless router. Other stuff seems to fly in when downloading. iTunes seems to be a slug as well as the software updates. I've reset the router and modem, but all to no avail.
