Slow iMac 08

for some odd reason I feel that my mac has become slower.. am I going crazy...

Slower how? Overall? Internet? certain apps?

Do you have all of your updates? How much HD space do you have left? RAM? Do you often add/delete large files?

If it's overall more sluggish and you have plenty of free hard drive space (at least 30%), AND you have all of your updates, I'd boot from your install disc, use the utilities menu and run disk utility. Repair disk and permissions. See if that helps.

Yes, all the latest updates, HD space from 500GB I have 300GB left

Got more apps open than usual? Updated to iLife 09 which seems to be lots of intensive on the eye-candy. How much RAM you got in it?

Fixes problems in your disk. Also deletes some carbage files which comes from downloading etc.
