slow internet

Hey!
My internet is supposed to be really fast.
but my computer has really slow download speeds and I can't figure out why.
but the other computer (they are both macbooks) has a lot faster download speeds.
please help me figure out what it is that makes my internet slow!🙂

I also have a problem that i'm loosing my connection to the wireless internet, even though i'm right next to it... what can cause that?

What kind of computer is having the issue?

How is your wireless internet set up and what is your wireless router?

The more info you can give the easier it can be to help.

Also, what brand and model number is your router?

If you are using a cordless phone in the 2.4GHZ range, that may affect your wireless connnection (the Airport uses that frequency). Other items that may affect your connection is other electrical devices.

You may want to try another channel as well.

How far are you from the pedestal box in your neighbourhood ? The further downstream you are,can also determine the speed.
