Im confused.

my Internet was slow on all my machines, (macbook MP Vista Ipod) (has been fine for 5 months)

after 5 hours or so they all fixed themselves expect for the MP when im talking slow 0.6kbps download speed

I thought what the hell ill reinstall it should fix it. No luck, i then tried Wifi on the MP & it runs fine 2.3mbps on ubuntu downloads fine.

so any ideas on why MP via Wifi is Fine MP via ethenet is very slow.

i've changed the cables
changed the port on the router.

the only thing i can think of is AppleTalk has died on the router or MP Ethernet ports are dieing?

also
Vista Pc with ethernet - fine
Macbook via wifi - Fine
Macbook via ethernet - slow
MP via wifi - fine
mp via ethernet - slow

Try turning off IPv6 under network preferences (Network-Ethernet-Advanced-TCPIP). If that doesn't solve the problem, you can adjust the Ethernet settings manually (write down existing settings first, so you can revert back).

So the Macbook doesn't have the problem anymore on Ethernet?

Did you try any manual settings? Or try connecting MP directly to the modem's Ethernet connection?
